Francesca Nicole Santiago
I majored in Neuroscience at Brown University and received my MD at SUNY Upstate Medical University. I completed my medical internship at Albany Medical Center, then began an Ophthalmology surgical residency at SUNY Upstate.
Halfway through, I realized that while I loved helping my patients, medicine was not my true passion. I ultimately decided to leave the medical field to find my true calling. After exploring other options — including a brief stint in musical theatre in which I had been cast in community productions of Beauty and the Beast and Into the Woods, I stumbled upon UX Design and have not looked back.
As a UX Designer with medical and surgical training, I am a deeply empathetic person driven to improve the lives of others through my innate ability to dissect complicated problems into comprehensible, intuitive, and inviting solutions.
Listening and asking the right questions are essential in properly diagnosing the true pain point behind a user's frustration. I find meaning in using my expertise and training to advise people on creating their own solutions.
